How Long AEW Was Working On New Dynamite Theme

AEW president Tony Khan has licensed several well known songs for the company’s wrestlers, promo packages and TV shows. Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” was the original theme for “Collision.” It was changed in July of last year but has since returned as the intro to Saturday night’s show on TNT.

“Dynamite” has had its own in-house produced themes, but with the addition of the companies’ shows to Max started using The Pointer Sisters classic “I’m So Excited.” Much of 2025, however, has seen the show go without a traditional opening until this past week when Khan licensed Sum 41’s “You Wanted War.”

“Thanks to @Sum41,” Khan wrote on Wednesday. “We are kicking off Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite with the opening theme “You Wanted War!” on  @TBSNetwork + @StreamOnMax tonight, right NOW!”

Fightful has also reported that AEW had a deal in place for “You Wanted War” for a number of weeks before its debut.
