How Charlotte Flair Was Injured During Her SmackDown Match Has Been Confirmed

During Friday night’s episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair wrestled her longtime rival Asuka. However, the match didn’t go to plan, and it was evident while watching that Flair was hurt at some point due to her obvious limp. And now it has been confirmed by PWInsider.com that Flair slipped during a commercial break and not only injured her knee but also struck her head. Following the contest, it was also reported that she would require help getting to the backstage area.

“PWInsider.com is told that during the commercial break, Asuka and Flair were setting up for a move but Flaur slipped and got caught on the ropes, wrenching her knee and striking her head. The movie was not shown on TV and when they returned to the live broadcast, both she and Asuka were on the mat with the announcers stating that Asuka had just taken Flair out. Flair was walked out by officials after the bout.”

Flair is a 14-time women’s world champion and looks certain to surpass her father Ric’s record of 16 world title victories at some point in the future. Still, it now appears she is set to miss some time from the ring, and considering WrestleMania season is fast approaching, the timing couldn’t be worse, with it likely WWE intends for her to feature in a prominent match on one of the nights.
