Green Day performed last weekend at Germany’s Hurricane Festival on an eclectic four-day lineup that also included Amyl & The Sniffers, Yellowcard, Sam Fender, Jimmy Eat World, Biffy Clyro, Rise Against and several others.

While the band performed their lengthy track “Jesus of Surbibia” from 2005’s “American Idiot” album, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong called out a fan for shooting him with a water gun. During the band’s performance, Armstrong can be seen pointing at an audience member and giving them the middle finger. He moves away from the microphone and can be seen mouthing the words, “I’ll beat your ass. Do you understand me?”

Earlier this year, Armstrong made headlines when he called out billionaire businessman Elon Musk changing the lyrics of “American Idiot” at a concert in South Africa singing: “I’m not a part of the Elon agenda.” Armstrong has been vocal in his disdain for both President Donald Trump and Musk in the past. Musk previously responded to the band: “Green Day goes from raging against the machine to milquetoastedly raging for it.”

The video of Armstrong scolding the fan in Germany was shared to TIkTok by Green Day Inc. and can be viewed below.
