Bill Goldberg retired from the ring at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta this past weekend, and while his match with Gunther lived up to expectations, it wasn’t without incident. This is because the WWE Hall of Famer not only no-sold Gunther’s typically devastating chops, attracting a great deal of online criticism, but it also came out afterward that he cracked one of Charles Robinson’s ribs with a Spear. Yet, it appears Goldberg is fully aware of the controversy surrounding both incidents, as he would apologize while speaking to Ariel Helwani.
While Goldberg is no longer a wrestler, he might not be done with the business, as it is known that his son, Gage, is looking to join WWE if he doesn’t make it to the NFL. And while some fans were unhappy with Gage calling WWE his “backup plan,” it isn’t like pro wrestling isn’t full of ex-football players with names like The Rock, Vader, Jim Duggan, JBL, and Gage’s own father, being perfect examples of those who put football above pro wrestling, but still became huge in-ring stars.
