Gigi Dolin’s Initial WWE Name Request Wasn’t Approved Due To Serial Killer Link

Priscilla Kelly signed with WWE in January 2021, and it was soon announced she would be known as Gigi Dolin going forward. And now, during an interview with Drinks With Johnny, she has disclosed that wasn’t her first choice of name, revealing that she wanted to be called Gigi Aileen. However, due to the name Aileen being linked to serial killer Aileen Wuornos, it was rejected.

“I’m trying to remember what other first names did I come up with. I know that I wanted the name Gigi Aileen was one that I liked, but that one didn’t pass because of Aileen Wuornos. They were like, ‘No, we’re not doing that. That’s a serial killer. You can’t do that.’

We have Joe Gacy which is in the same ballpark but, I don’t know, I get it. They’re probably like, we already have Joe Gacy coming in around the same time as me, and it was like, if I came in with another serial killer name, it was probably just gonna be a little overkill, maybe.”

For those unaware, Wuornos murdered seven men between November 1989 and November 1990. And while she claimed the homicides were self-defense, she was still sentenced to death. She would eventually be executed in October 2002 by lethal injection. Subsequently, she found international fame due to her story being told in the movie Monster, which saw Charlize Theron win the Academy Award for Best Actress.
