Gangrel Makes His AEW Return During Rampage (w/Video)

Last year Gangrel revealed on his podcast that he was set to make an AEW appearance, but it was canceled after Edge gave Seth Rollins a “Brood Bath” on SmackDown. AEW didn’t want to appear as though they were copying WWE; however, they would still pay Gangrel his full booking fee as a mark of respect. Now though has made his return to AEW during Friday night’s Rampage alongside The Young Bucks as part of an amusing parody of the Hardys with whom he was aligned during the Attitude Era. A video of this can be viewed below, which also features Brandon Cutler cosplaying as Lita.

This was the WWE veteran’s second appearance for AEW, as he was previously brought him in for a cameo during the Elite Deletion match between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara at Full Gear 2020. Whether he makes any future appearances remains to be seen, yet considering how popular his return was across social media, it wouldn’t be surprising. Nowadays, while still remaining an active in-ring competitor Gangrel focuses his time training tomorrow’s stars and is currently working with Paige VanZant, who is set to wrestle at Double or Nothing, teaming with Scorpio Sky, and Ethan Page against Tay Conti, Sammy Guevara, and Frankie Kazarian.
