Gail Kim Says She Will Not Condone Bullying Towards Velvet Sky Following Her Impact 1000 Concussion

Two weeks ago, Gail Kim returned to the ring for Impact Wrestling’s 1000th episode special event, and during this, the former WWE star landed hard on her head after being pulled out of the ring by Velvet Sky. Shortly afterward, she took to Twitter/X to acknowledge that the incident had left her “rattled” and has now confirmed on Instagram that she suffered a concussion. Yet, despite this and showing her professionalism, she has urged angry fans not to attack and blame Sky, noting she was aware of the risks.

“I WILL NOT CONDONE ANY ATTACKING BEHAVIOR OR BULLYING TOWARDS VELVET OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THIS CLIP. Professional Wrestling is a career we all enter knowing the risks we take when we perform for the fans. Shit happens. It’s not my first concussion and perhaps not my last.”

Once the clip showing Kim’s head bouncing off the mats outside the ring went viral, some fans went as far as to suggest that Sky had purposely injured her peer. However, there is absolutely no proof of this, and Sky has never had a reputation for deliberately or even accidentally injuring her opponents. Therefore, it is wrong to bully her over a spot gone wrong, especially when Kim herself seemingly doesn’t blame her.
