Gable Steveson Possibly Spoils His WWE Debut In Deleted Tweet

Seven months ago, WWE secured the signature of Gable Steveson, who had won the gold medal in the Men’s Freestyle 125 kilograms at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. In what was a surprising deal, WWE agreed to allow Steveson to continue his amateur wrestling career while training for pro wrestling and even announced him as being drafted to Raw.

Now, with him winning the NCAA Championship this past weekend and announcing his retirement from the sport, he is set to focus on WWE. However, it appears fans will not have long to wait before seeing Steveson competent in a WWE ring as he has revealed he will be at WrestleMania in a now-deleted tweet.

Of course, Steveson could have simply meant that he would be in attendance to watch or be backstage. Still, it seems odd that he would delete the tweet if that was the case, and potentially WWE is now looking to introduce the athlete into a storyline. Given his history, there will certainly be comparisons between him and Kurt Angle, who is arguably the most successful Olympian who transitioned into professional wrestling, and if Steveson can have half the pro wrestling career Angle did, he will be a resounding success.
