FOZZY are well known for creating a unique opportunity for fans through their VIP experience. A limited number of concertgoers can see the band soundcheck and perform a mini set of FOZZY and classic rock songs, take individual pictures with the band, get merchandise autographed and even perform a song with the group.
A short video clip of the band’s soundcheck experience was shared via social media under false pretenses to try to paint the group in a bad light in terms of attendance at their recent show in New York. The clip was from the VIP soundcheck and not the band’s actual performance. A show review from amNY reports: “Fozzy drew hundreds of both music and wrestling fans at the iconic Gramercy Theatre as the group celebrated two and a half decades on stage. Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho is not only touring the country with a microphone in his hand and guitarists at his side, he is also traveling the road as a wrestling star for AEW. This is all the more impressive since the 53-year-old started grappling at just 19-years-old and has now been performing with the band since 1999.”
In response to the misleading post about their New York show, FOZZY posted a photo from their gig on Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio. “Last night in Columbus, OH,” the band wrote. “This is for the idiots who can’t tell the difference between our VIP private soundchecks and the actual shows.”
FOZZY’s 25th anniversary tour wraps up Sunday in Flint, Michigan and Monday in Cleveland, Ohio. All FOZZY tour dates and VIP packages can be seen at FozzyRock.com.
