During the pandemic, FOZZY frontman and AEW star Chris Jericho reached out to a group of fellow musicians with a unique idea.
Jericho is a bonafide member of the KISS Army, but his introduction to the band wasn’t rooted in their 70s, comic book hero heyday, but rather their anthemic, non-makeup, glam years.
KISS took on a new form when they removed their makeup for their now-classic 1983 album, “Lick It Up,” and the move ushered in an entire new generation of fans to the KISS kingdom via hits like “Heavens On Fire,” “Crazy Crazy Nights,” “Uh! All Night,” “Tears Are Falling” and the aforementioned “Lick It Up” title track, among others.
Jericho wanted to put together a tribute to KISS’ non-makeup era, and he teamed up with Luke Bryan drummer Kent Slucher, FOZZY/Trixter bassist PJ Farley and Klassik ’78 guitarist Joe McGinness to record four tunes from an often overlooked time period of “the hottest band in the world.”
Kuarantine first debuted in May 2020 with the release of “No No No”, which reached No. 25 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The band has since issued its versions of “Heart Of Chrome”, featuring former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, “Love’s A Deadly Weapon”, and “Silver Spoon,” amassing more than a half million total views on their videos on YouTube and over 200,000 total streams across DSPs.
Kuarantine has played a few times, most notably on Chris Jericho’s Rock ’n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea, but the group will take the act on the road for the first time for three shows next week in Western Pa. and Ohio.
