John Cena is currently on his retirement tour, with his final match expected to take place in December, speculated to be at a premium live event named “Ruthless Aggression.” Yet, who he will face remains unknown, with Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and even R-Truth currently considered the top contenders to be his potential final opponent. However, former WWE writer Vince Russo has now taken to X to boldly predict that the 17-time world champion will face Triple H, whom he wrestled at WrestleMania 22 in 2006 and the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 in his swansong.
While, from a storyline perspective, it would be easy for WWE to set up this match, the practicality of it remains another matter. This is because 55-year-old Triple H has been retired for several years after suffering heart failure in 2021, which saw him have a heart defibrillator implanted. Still, stranger things have happened in the world of professional wrestling, and with Triple H not getting an official final match himself, perhaps he could be tempted to share the spotlight one more time if he could get medically cleared.
