After being released in April as part of budgetary cuts, we now know that Matt Cardona, the former Zack Ryder has joined All Elite Wrestling. He made his debut last night on Dynamite saving Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson from an attack by Jon Silver and Alex Reynolds of the Dark Order following Cody’s TNT Championship defense against Warhorse. During next week’s episode of Dynamite, Cardona will make his in-ring debut teaming with real-life friend Cody against Silver and Reynolds.
In addition, Ariane Andrew, previously known as Cameron in WWE, made a backstage appearance where we found out she will be Nyla Rose’s tag partner in AEW’s Women’s Tag Team Cup. Ariane has been out of the business since being released by WWE in 2016, although she has been planning a comeback since 2019. She was set to appear at an indie event during WrestleMania Week, which was obviously canceled. As of writing, it isn’t known if she has signed a contract with AEW.
