During a new interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, former WWE and AEW wrestler Jake Hager, also known as Jack Swagger, announced he has signed with Dana White’s PowerSlap. The retired wrestler will debut in the heavyweight division on April 17 in Las Vegas during WrestleMania weekend. Additionally, he disclosed he’d signed a six-fight deal and joked about having a “very slappable face.“
“Yeah, I’m so excited to announce that I’ve signed with UFC Power Slap and they are doing a show April 17th in Vegas live. That’s the Friday Mania. I’ll be competing in that show in the heavyweight division, and, you know, I’ve been told I have a very slappable face, so right around the corner … I signed a six-appearance contract with them. So hopefully it’s more than one. Absolutely long-term.” – Jake Hager
43-year-old Hager, born Donald Jacob Hager Jr., excelled in amateur wrestling at the University of Oklahoma as an All-American heavyweight. This would open the door for him to sign with WWE in 2006, where he debuted as Jack Swagger and won the World Heavyweight and ECW Championships, as well as the United States Championship. After leaving WWE in 2017, he pursued MMA with Bellator, subsequently signing with AEW in 2019 as Jake Hager, where he remained until his contract expired in 2024.
