In news that may lead to something or potentially nothing, Fightful Select has reported that Fred Rosser was backstage at this week’s Dynamite and Collision tapings. Whether Rosser, best known for his time in WWE as Darren Young, was simply visiting friends or discussing working for the company is unclear, although he has wrestled for Tony Khan’s version of ROH a few times in the past.
41-year-old Rosser found fame in WWE as part of The Nexus, a group of NXT rookies hellbent on destroying the company. However, the angle, which started out incredibly hot, would famously fail to live up to expectations due to the group not being booked strong enough against John Cena. Subsequently, Rosser would form The Prime Time Players alongside Titus O’Neil, capturing the WWE Tag Team Championships during their time together. Ultimately, though, WWE would release him in October 2017 after he had missed nine months through injury.
