There was a scary moment at Five Finger Death Punch’s show on Monday night in Columbus, Ohio when singer Ivan Moody stopped the show to help a fan who was experience a seizure.
Fan videos show Moody pleading with the crowd before exiting the stage to assist. He appears to leave the stage to get a blanket and later embraces FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory for moral support.
Don Holbert, who shared video of the incident on YouTube, said: “A fan started having a seizure during ‘Jekyll and Hyde.’ Ivan jumped off stage to help since people were putting the girl on her back instead of her side.”
Another fan on TikTok who shared footage remarked: “Five Finger Death Punch lead vocalist Ivan Moody stops the show to help a girl seizing in the crowd. Mad respect.”
“Everybody, back up, back up,” Moody told the crowd. “Seriously, hey guys, just give her a sec, okay? [Somebody] came over the rail.”
He continued, “Is she conscious? Gurney — can we get a f*ckin’ gurney, please? She’s having a seizure. Put her on her side, on her side — not on her back!”
It’s been an eventful few months for FFDP in the news mostly due to Moody making the shocking announcement from the stage at an Oct. 14 show that was going to do one more album with the band then retire.
Moody since retracted that statement and assured fans he isn’t going anywhere. “I really sat back the last few days and took it all in,” Moody said.
“And I first off want to apologize. I do. I apologize,” the singer said in a video that was uploaded to YouTube by a fan. “I apologize because music’s all I’ve got, and I don’t think, for one, my kids would respect me in the long run if I quit doing what got me here. I don’t think my friends would talk to me. Obviously they didn’t text me, not the ones I was hoping for.”
