Fellow WCW Alumni Comments On If He’ll Be At Revolution For Sting’s Retirement Match

Legendary pro wrestler Sting is set to retire from the ring at AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view next month when he teams with Darby Allin against The Young Bucks. And while little is known about what AEW plans to do to make the night memorable, Kevin Nash recently revealed that Sting is looking to bring in longtime friends to mark the occasion. Unfortunately, due to his WWE Legends contract, Nash can’t appear. However, based on comments made by Lex Luger during the latest episode of his Lex Expressed podcast, it seems he will be there to support his friend and fellow WCW alumni.

“Sting was there for me at three in the morning when I had my motorcycle wreck, and they wanted to cut my arm off and kind of stopped the doctors from cutting my arm off. So people could read into that what they want, on whether I might be at the building or not. I won’t confirm anything, but I’m just saying. I’ll leave it in that context. How’s that?”

For those unaware, back in 1992, Luger had a head-on crash with a car while riding his motorbike, and doctors didn’t think his right arm could be saved. Yet, Sting had gone to the hospital to visit Luger, and when he heard talk of amputation, he called world-renowned sports orthopedic surgeon Dr. Andrews, who intervened and requested Luger be transferred to him. Dr. Andrews would subsequently save not only Luger’s arm but also his wrestling career, with Luger back in the ring just seven months later.
