Everything You Can Expect To See At WWE Crown Jewel 2022

Crown Jewel is a premium live event that World Wrestling Entertainment has created. And throughout history, wrestling has played host to some marquee events. The past few decades have been littered with appearances from some of the biggest names in sports and showbiz. These include the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Tyson Fury, and Donald Trump. This year’s Crown Jewel event is no different and features another guest appearance from YouTube superstar Logan Paul. Famously, Logan Paul fought Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition fight in 2021. Despite having minimal boxing experience, he managed to last eight rounds with a boxer who many regard as the greatest pound-for-pound fighter of his generation.

Bookmakers were offering markets on this event due to the hysteria the bout caused in mainstream media. If you fancied Logan Paul to go the full eight rounds with the boxing’s marquee superstar, you would have got a reasonable price and would have come away from the bout smiling at the returns you made. This is just one example of Logan Paul’s ability to try his hand at anything and seemingly look competent at it, despite the event not having people on the edge of their seats. Obviously, there has been some controversy in his past, which he has addressed and moved beyond. Not only has he made his fortune on YouTube, but he has also ventured into several other markets. He and fellow YouTuber KSI combined their wealth and influence to enter the beverage industry.

They are currently marketing their drink Prime quite successfully, which is a credit to both that they don’t just sit back and rest on their laurels. This seems to be standard practice for YouTubers, as Logan’s brother Jake has recently tried his hand at professional boxing. Although he has not faced a professional fighter yet, he has impressively dispatched high-level UFC stars and knows how to box. It has created a lot of excitement and debate within boxing circles and general conversation among sports journalists. Jake Paul has benefited the boxing community by focusing on a sport increasingly moving toward the fringes.

Due to poor matchups and boxing promoters allowing politics to stop the biggest fights being made, it has allowed the likes of Jake Paul to move into the space with his enormous following and bring some publicity back into the sport. Some boxing fans would disagree with this take, as it is not a sport you casually participate in – you can be seriously injured while participating in professional boxing. Some fans think Paul is making a mockery of the sport. However, whichever way you look at it, boxing contains an element of theatre. It requires the buzz to get casual fans interested. Judging by the pay-per-view numbers, it looks like this is exactly what Jake Paul is doing.

His brother Logan will potentially look to have a similar impact on the wrestling world. The WWE is a big money spinner. Suppose Logan successfully follows and impresses while headlining his first pay-per-view event – in that case, it could be another serious revenue stream for him. Logan Paul’s journey into the wrestling world will be an interesting one. The organization knows how to identify big celebrities and names that will cause a stir among wrestling fans and the general public, who may tune in to see the event.

Despite being the third time Logan Paul has featured in a WWE event, he goes into this pay-per-view in the headline match against Roman Reigns. This isn’t Logan Paul’s first venture into the wrestling ring. He has some pretty significant experience in competitive wrestling too. He is no rookie when it comes to getting in the ring. Although wrestling entertainment and competitive wrestling differ, the essential skills remain similar. It will not work against him by any means.

The brewing rivalry between Reigns and Paul originated on Paul’s podcast in mid-September. Following an appearance on the podcast, Paul made some disparaging remarks about Reigns behind his back. This then resulted in an aggressive social media exchange between the pair. Triple H then announced at a press conference the following day that Paul would be climbing into the ring with Reigns to face off for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out as Logan Paul’s rise to celebrity status differs from other celebrities who have appeared on WWE before him. Of course, the world continues to evolve and change, and the rise of the internet has been the main driving force behind Paul’s rise to superstardom. Still, though, the celebrities who have appeared on WWE over the years have mainly been sports stars. How WWE manage the transition of someone of Paul’s stature immersing himself in the WWE fraternity will highlight how well the organization is adapting to the modern age.

Another big fight on the Crown Jewel card features a wrestler who successfully crossed over to another sport. In the same manner as Jake Paul’s impact on boxing earlier in this piece, Brock Lesnar moving into the UFC from WWE created serious publicity. Lesnar proved just how tough he was, operating at a seriously high level and holding his own against some of the top heavyweights in the UFC. However, he is back in the WWE following a surprise re-appearance in Raw following a public disagreement with Bobby Lashley.

Lesnar had not appeared in any of the organization’s events since SummerSlam over two months ago, so his appearance raised a few eyebrows and again created a frenzy among wrestling fans. Lesnar’s appearance in Raw culminated in a confrontation between the pair, which came to a head in this episode. During the brawl with Lesnar, Lashley put his United States Championship on the line and did not come out victorious.

In the episode seven days later, Lashley slammed Lesnar through a table, and now the pair want to settle their differences. This has resulted in a duel being announced as part of the undercard for this year’s Crown Jewel. Lashley vs. Lesnar is a great contest, and Lesnar is undoubtedly an asset to the WWE. Not only does he have the marketability and stature to create buzz – but he is also an excellent character who knows how to fight. Whoever comes out on top in this contest will have a more prominent role to play in upcoming WWE events, and it will be exciting to see who wins this bout.

In addition to these two fascinating matchups, there will also be a six-way tag team match between The Judgement Day (Finn Bálor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley) and The O.C. The O.C. team includes Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, who hasn’t been seen in action since they were released from WWE over two years ago. Their inclusion will undoubtedly generate the interest and publicity required to sell such a marquee event.

These three events will do more than enough to sell the PPV, and we envisage that it will be a success due to the depth and quality of the matchups. It will also shape the organization in the months and years to come.
