Eric Bischoff Says Fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Needs to “Let It Go”

Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair have had a problematic relationship, to say the least, over the years, even getting into a backstage altercation while both in WWE. Although it had appeared that they’d put any ill feelings in the past. However, thanks to both men being regular on Twitter, their history is often brought up, and now Bischoff has taken to his podcast asking Flair to finally “let it go” following a recent tweet where he claimed he’d made Ric Flair. Which, to be fair, was an outlandish claim considering, at that time, Flair had drawn money all around the world.

Ric comes back to WCW, and WCW still couldn’t make any money with him in 93 and 94, which is why I had to go out and get Hulk Hogan. Ric’s a great performer. Don’t get me wrong. He’s a legend. But when it comes to business, I had to do what I had to do, and apparently, that just rubs Ric the wrong way, and he can’t let it go. I’m really sorry about that, but my God, let it go.

While it is fair to say WCW wasn’t drawing money with Flair in the mid-90s, how much Flair is to blame for that is up for debate when creative wasn’t at its peak. Plus, the business was down after the Steroid trial and Hulk Hogan’s drawing power was waning. Truth be told, the recovery didn’t come into the nWo debuted in 1996, and that was an idea Bischoff had taken from New Japan after attending a show at the Tokyo Dome a few months earlier.
