Pop star Ed Sheeran was joined on stage recently by metalcore/electronic rockers Bring Me The Horizon for The BRIT Awards performing Sheeran’s song, “Bad Habits.” Sheeran told the Daily Star that they are also working a new song together. “We’re going to write a song together … playing with Bring Me The Horizon was a dream. I got in touch with (vocalist) Oli (Sykes) and we were going to write together, but then the pandemic happened, so we were in touch – I’ve been a fan for a long time. Oddly enough that’s the kind of music I grew up listening to and had a Kerrang! subscription and I listened to it constantly.”

Sheeran previously revealed that he is a fan of death metal, and Cradle Of Filth vocalist Dani Filth said that he and Sheeran had also been talking about a possible collaboration. “I’ve actually been e-mailing with him … He actually touched base with me,” Filth told Loudwire. “I’ve been invited up to his place. Well, he said he could come down to mine, but I pointed out to him that I don’t own my own bar or village, and it’d be better if I went there. He said he’d do anything. Quite literally. He said he’s a massive fan. He seems like a genuinely very nice guy actually.”

Sheeran said: “I was really into death metal as a kid. I listened to Cradle Of Filth and Slipknot and all that stuff. I’m not saying I could ever step into that world. I learnt all those riffs on guitar as a kid. That’s something I’ve never thought about doing – but something I would not be opposed to creating.”
