Disturbing Voicemails Surface Of Kurt Cobain Threatening Book Writers

A pair of UK authors, Victoria Clarke and Britt Collins, set out to write a book on Nirvana’s historic rise back in the early ’90s. The project got so far as to see Clarke getting an invite to the band’s 1992 European tour, and the pair were given many contacts for their research.

Somewhere, however, it all went awry, and eventually Nirvana’s management filed a lawsuit to stop the book from ever coming out.

Niall Doherty of Louder reported that Clarke was told to leave the 1992 tour after asking Cobain’s wife, Courtney Love, for an interview, which apparently the Nirvana frontman was not in favor of. Doherty also reports that Cobain and Love became increasingly angry about who the authors were contacting for interviews. The list included Love’s ex-boyfriends and Vanity Fair writer, Lynn Hirschberg. The Vanity Fair scribe had previously written an article claiming Love took heroine while pregnant.

The whole situation devolved into Cobain and Love leaving a series of disturbing voicemails threatening the authors about what they were writing.

“We will use every dollar we have and every bit of our power to basically f*ck you up,” Love said.

Cobain called the next night saying: “I have a lot of things to say to you, you parasitic little c*nts. If anything comes out in this book hurts my wife, I’ll f*cking hurt you. I don’t care if this is a recorded message, I’m at the end of my ropes… I suppose I could throw out a few thousand dollars to have you snuffed out, but maybe I’ll try the legal way first.”

Another message stated: “At this point you’re probably aware that I don’t give a flying f*ck if you have this on tape, or if you use it in a court of law…”

The messages are available to hear in the YouTube clip below. For the original article, visit Louder
