Twisted Sister frontman and solo artist Dee Snider is never afraid to speak his mind, and he frequently posts his views on a variety of subjects via his Twitter account. He and Twisted Sister have also fought with many political leaders for the use of their mega-hit, “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” On Saturday, though, Snider offered his support to the Ukranian people for using the song “as their battlecry.”

“I absolutely approve of Ukrainians using “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as their battlecry,” Snider wrote. “My grandfather was Ukrainian, before it was swallowed up by the USSR after WW2. This can’t happen to these people again! #F*CKRUSSIA”

One Twitter user replied to Snider saying “Hello Dee. It’s not Russia to blame. It’s Putin. He’s the one who started the war, most Russians don’t support him and his decisions.” Snider responded: “Understood (though they are claiming 60% of Russians support this invasion). But the Russian people (many who are already protesting) need to take responsibility for the piece of sh*t they have allowed to stay in power for 22 years. #F*CKPUTIN.”

Recently, Snider spoke to a New Orleans radio station about his involvement with the documentary, “America’s Deadliest Concert: The Guest List,” which revisited the deadly 2003 Rhode Island concert fire that killed 100 people and injured 230. “It’s hard to remember and listen to, but a hundred people burned to death, over two hundred were injured, and 65 kids lost one or both parents in a fire in a nightclub,” Snider said. “Great White was playing. And yeah, Great White, they were vilified. Their pyro ignited the building, and wrong or right, they’ve been shouldering the blame for a long time.”

Snider also recently released a new, powerful video for his song, “Stand,” which pays tribute to the victims of the deadly fire.
