Dave Meltzer is the most prominent journalist in the pro wrestling business, and while some wrestlers like our own Chris Jericho embrace that by having him as a guest on Talk Is Jericho, others do not enjoy the scrutiny he puts on the industry. One of those wrestlers appears to be AJ Styles, who has now called Meltzer a liar on more than one occasion, and Meltzer has now fired back.
Speaking on his Wrestling Observer Radio show, he stated he is pissed off with AJ Styles for saying he is a liar when the story he reported about why Styles moved brands was accurate and was confirmed by Gallows and Anderson on their Talk N’ Shop: Countdown To F#ckTown podcast.

What AJ said what I was a liar about and that I made something up, was exactly what his friends said word-for-word, basically, other than the fact I said they were incredibly naive not to believe it wasn’t Vince McMahon’s decision, because it was.

While Dave Meltzer isn’t always right, he does correct his mistakes, and over the 40 years that he has written the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he has been right far more often than he has been wrong. While he may have been fed bad information over the years from sources, it’s highly doubtful he has ever out-and-out lied.
