The popular wrestling series “Dark Side of the Ring” has hinted at a potential episode in its upcoming seventh season that will cover the life of the late Ray Traylor, best known to wrestling fans as The Big Boss Man. Producers shared a cryptic Instagram Story showing a Big Boss Man action figure in a dimly lit setting, with flashing red and blue lights and visible filming equipment, strongly suggesting that production was underway on his story. The show, renowned for examining controversial and emotional chapters in pro wrestling history through interviews with insiders and family, will likely focus on Traylor’s 2004 death.
Traylor debuted in 1985 as enhancement talent in Jim Crockett Promotions before becoming heel bodyguard Big Bubba Rogers, feuding with Dusty Rhodes. Then, in WWE between 1988, and 1983 he portrayed a brutal correctional officer who handcuffed and beat foes, later turning face and working with Mr. Perfect and The Mountie. After WCW stints as The Boss and Guardian Angel, he returned to the WWF in 1998, joining The Corporation, winning tag and hardcore titles, and having a memorable feud with Big Show. Tragically, he would pass at the age of just 41 from an enlarged heart, and 12 years later was finally inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.
