On Friday, Danhausen posted cryptic tweets about “freedom,” indicating his time with AEW was coming to an end, yet he remained listed on their roster page at the time. However, it has not been noted that he was removed overnight, confirming he is currently a free agent and suggesting he could be inside WWE’s mystery crate when it’s opened at Elimination Chamber, which takes place this evening in Chicago.
Donovan Danhausen debuted in 2013 after training at House of Truth. Initially, he’d work under his real name or Kid Gorgeous on the indie circuit before reinventing himself as the eccentric, horror-comedy “very nice, very evil” Danhausen, complete with demonic makeup, curses, and teeth obsession. This gimmick led to viral fame, and after signing with ROH would join AEW in 2022. Still, injuries and limited TV time seemingly soured his time in the company, with many now hoping he gets a fresh start with WWE.
