Back in 2021, D-Von Dudley made headlines when he said during an interview that he was “infatuated with” Stephanie McMahon and considered her “beautiful inside and out.” The fact that D-Von was and remains a married man would subsequently see fans joke that he was set for a spell on the couch, as it’s doubtful his saying “She is everything that I would think that a woman should be” went down well at home with his wife, Taylor.
However, during a new interview, he has downplayed his past comments, stating he misused the word “infatuated” and meant “admired,” and denied having a crush. However, the fact that he declared at the time, “I would have loved to have dated Stephanie McMahon,” doesn’t appear to be something that can be taken out of context.
D-Von Dudley is currently preparing for only his fourth match in nine years, having been advertised as challenging TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys alongside longtime partner Bully Ray at Bound For Glory in October. This announcement actually shocked many at the time, as D-Von had previously disclosed his surgeon had advised him to never wrestle again due to having had his L4, L5, and L6 fused with screws and a plate surgically inserted in his back. Still, walking away from the ring has proven difficult for many wrestlers over the years, and all that can be hoped is that D-Von comes out of the match unharmed.
