Earlier this year, Corey Taylor caused some concern among hard rock and metal fans when he postponed his solo North American tour to deal with mental health struggles. A noticeably thinner Taylor posted a heartbreaking video update.
“I, over the last year, have had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, entitlement, the whole nine yards, culminating in a very, very real, very near relapse that I kind of don’t recognize myself,” he said. “So, again, I wanted to address this and just tell people that I needed time to reset, I needed time to start working on my heart and my mind and get straight.”
Fortunately, Taylor appears to be doing better. Late last month he made a public appearance at a CMLL luche libra wrestling event in Mexico. And on Sunday night, Taylor made his first appearance on stage since announcing his break when he guested with Falling In Reverse for a performance of their collaborative song, “Drugs.” The original version of the song was released in 2019.
Footage (taken by Janelle Rominski) of the performance can be viewed below.
