Last week, the New York Post and TMZ reported that an Instagram model claimed she and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine had an affair. “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” Levine told TMZ.
“I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.”
Following the story, other women came forward to say they also had flirty DMs with the Maroon 5 singer. One of the alleged interactions revealed Levine throwing shade at women who listen to heavy metal. A woman named Alyson Rosef said: “I’m so weird too and only listen to metal lol.” To which Levine allegedly replied: “Said no hot chicks ever other than you.”
Slipknot’s Corey Taylor hasn’t minced words when it comes to Levine. The Maroon 5 singer said of the rock genre: “Rock music is nowhere, really. I don’t know where it is. If it’s around, no one’s invited me to the party. All the of the innovation and incredible things happening in music are in hip-hop. It’s better than everything else.” Taylor replied at the time: “Just because you claim to have ‘Moves Like Jagger’ doesn’t mean you come anywhere CLOSE to ROCKING like Jagger. Tell that schmuck to go back to the f*cking Voice.”
With Levine making headlines for his alleged affair and diss to metal music, Taylor was asked again about the singer during an Instagram Live session. At first, Taylor just laughed hard and said: “Yeah, that’s all I gotta say about it.” He then took a sip of a drink and while still laughing added: “What a d*ck.”
Gwar’s Blothar the Berzerker ripped Levine, too, telling Louder: “I don’t really listen to anything Adam Levine says. He is a good-looking fella… his tattoos look like a Wendy’s tablecloth or something. There’s lots of hot chicks who listen to metal, that’s ridiculous. Of course hot chicks listen to metal. I think he’s a dipsh*t.”
