Danhausen is one of those rare wrestlers who managed to get himself over without being pushed by a major promotion. However, despite his immense popularity, he hasn’t appeared on AEW television for over a year and has only featured once for ROH. And now, seemingly confirming that his time working for Tony Khan is about to end, Fightful Select has reported that his contract expires next month.
34-year-old Donovan Danhausen is best known for his comedy wrestling style, and some claimed his over-the-top character didn’t fit in with AEW’s desired product. Still, despite his absence from television, he remains a major merchandise mover, and therefore, it seems doubtful he needs to worry about his long-term future, with his fan base clearly willing to spend money on him regardless of where he works.
