While popular with fans online, Danhausen hasn’t wrestled for AEW or ROH since February 2024, with Tony Khan seemingly deciding his gimmick doesn’t fit his product. And now, Fightful Select reports that, after AEW extended his contract due to missed time, he is rumored to be NXT-bound and will officially be a free agent around February 2026. Whether he will actually join WWE is unknown, though he is a close friend of CM Punk, who would likely put him in touch with the right people.
35-year-old Donovan Danhausen debuted in wrestling in 2013, competing as Donovan Danger after training under both Jimmy Jacobs and Truth Martini. From there, he built his reputation on the independent circuit after fully embracing his unique “very nice, very evil” demonic comedy gimmick, which made him a cult favorite. This led to his signing with Ring of Honor in 2019. Then, in 2022, AEW, where he worked alongside Hook, Orange Cassidy, and The Best Friends, but a 2023 pectoral injury resulted in an extended absence and ultimately led to his being phased out.
