Cody Rhodes Comments Following Kevin Owens’ WarGames Tribute To His Father

With WarGames called up to the main roster for Survivor Series, it was notable that WWE would take the time to acknowledge on air that the late great Dusty Rhodes created the concept. Additionally, Kevin Owens paid tribute to Rhodes by wearing a red elbow pad and a t-shirt displaying the legendary pro wrestler and booker. And now Dusty’s youngest son Cody has taken the time to comment on Twitter. Noting that while he was at home, Dusty was his family’s, but when it came to the business, he had many children, with it known Owens was one of many.

The WWE Hall of Famer developed WarGames in 1987 for Jim Crockett Promotions of the National Wrestling Alliance, and it would become a regular event on WCW’s calendar, appearing on pay-per-view, house shows, and even one Nitro broadcast. And while Rhodes would wrestle 12 of the gimmick matches (obviously winning them all), he isn’t the all-time record holder for appearances as Arn Anderson, and Sting share the record for appearances with an incredible 19 each, and for Anderson, all of those were defeats.
