Kevin Owens Reveals How Much Time He Has Remaining On His WWE Contract

Kevin Owens joined WWE in 2014 and has far exceeded everyone’s expectations by becoming a Grand Slam Champion and twice headlining Night 1 of WrestleMania. However, it appears his long-term future with the company could be in doubt, with him revealing during an interview with Metro.co.uk that he only has nine months remaining on his current contract. Nevertheless, he would add that he has become very close with a number of those behind the scenes and can’t imagine not seeing them, thus making it sound like he would like to re-sign.

“I really don’t take anything for granted. I’ve nine months left on my contract, and I don’t know what can happen from here on out … There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life.”

39-year-old Owens made his name in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Ring of Honor before signing with WWE. Yet, while it was always known how talented he was, many suspected his look would hold him back, considering that Vince McMahon typically looked to push those with a bodybuilder physique. Yet, Owens would seemingly never be held back because of this, becoming a featured performer in both NXT and the main roster, achieving his career goal of becoming a WWE World Champion in 2016 by defeating Big Cass, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins in a fatal four-way match on Raw for the vacant Universal Championship.
