Pittsburgh-based hardcore/metal band Code Orange is known to wrestling fans having collaborated with WWE on several occasions. The band performed Aleistar Black’s “Root Of All Evil” live at an NXT TakeOver. The band also crafted the song “Shatter” for the late, great Bray Wyatt.

In 2023, the band put out a well-received album, “The Above,” but has since gone quiet. More recently, guitarist Reba Meyers joined Marilyn Manson’s band full time and also launched a solo career. Vocalist Jami Morgan eluded to the reasons why on an episode of the Nik Nocturnal Podcast.

“We don’t have any plans, you know, Code Orange is on the shelf, and I think it’s there for a good reason, for many reasons,” Morgan said. “I think you can put two, two and four together, and you’ll probably come to the answer.”

Morgan continued saying that guitarist Dominic Landolina was also battling through a genetic condition that forced the cancelation of a tour. “And I’m super stoked on the record ‘The Above,’” he said. “It was a series of circumstances. One that I am happy to speak about is my guitar player, Dominic — he’s one of my best friends in the world — was dealing with a really hard genetic condition that really started damaging his hand, and his neck, and his foot, and that was the primary cause for us to have to cancel our first tour on the record.”

“His fingers were this big, I was really scared for him. He was having a really hard time. He’s got it under control now, for sure, which is amazing. Um, and, you know, so it just felt like The Above, if you guys haven’t checked it out yet, it says a lot of what needed to be said about that, and even just spiritually, artistically… It’s such a, for me, beautiful way to have put that pause on it. And it kind of says everything that I wanted to say. It’s almost like it feels a little bit like a death record in some ways, but in like a beautiful way for me.”

He continued: “So I feel really artistically fulfilled in that way, and Code Orange is just on the shelf and there’s many circumstances, and we’ll see what happens. But, yeah, I have no plans.”
