On the latest episode of Talk Is Jericho, Chris chats with author Brad Balukjian about his new book, “The Six Pack: On The Road in Search of Wrestlemania.” They cover numerous topics as Balukjian reveals his quest to meet six famous wrestling contemporaries of his favorite wrestler, The Iron Sheik.

Jericho and Balukjian talked a good deal about Hulk Hogan, and after the author shared a bit of backstory on Hogan’s music career in the ’70s, he turned the interview around and asked Jericho what it was like working with The Hulkster in the early 2000s when the wrestling icon returned to the WWE.

“The thing that was cool about Hulk, when he came back in 2001, 2002, he was wide open to work,” Jericho said. “And I remember he was really, like you mentioned in the book, he really is just a cool guy, a nice guy. And he was excited to work with guys like me and Kurt Angle and Edge and all the guys that were there to put him over. He was like, ‘I never dealt with this before. In the ’80s, everyone was trying to stab me in the back. Whereas here everyone’s working to make me look good.’”

Jericho continued: “So he would come in, and we worked so many times, he’d be like, ‘Hey man, just tell me what you want me to do.’ Which was really cool. He would just do whatever I told him. He was giving me suplexes from the second rope, and he was taking lionsaults, and he was doing all this stuff that he probably had no interest in ever doing before. He was just really excited, because we went out of our way to put him over. He was the hero of our childhoods, and you now get a chance to work with him and make him look good. It was kind of a real full circle moment.”
