About a month ago, Rolling Stone released their list of the 200 greatest singers of all time. The list, which began in 2008, created a great deal of online debate.

Topped by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Sam Cooke, Billie Holiday and Mariah Carey, the article left off numerous hard rock and heavy metal vocalists including AC/DC singers Bon Scott and Brian Johnson, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson, KISS vocalists Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, Anthrax singers Joey Belladonna and John Bush, Ex-Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Pantera’s Phillip Anselmo and Queensryche’s Geoff Tate.

This Day In Metal (thisdayinmetal.com) has created their own list of the top 50 heavy metal singers of all time. “After much debating, fan polls and a few broken noses, we have come up with the Top 50 Heavy Metal singers of all time,” said the site. “F*ck Rolling Stone and all their bullsh*t!! I’m sure we missed a few good singers here and there but hopefully it brings up a good debate!!!”

Kicking off the list and ranking at No. 50 is FOZZY’s Chris Jericho. The site wrote: “Who? Yes that’s right, before you say Jericho can’t sing I suggest you go listen to his version of Iron Maiden’s Aces High. Right Sebastian Bach?”

The top 5 were Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Ozzy Osbourne and Geoff Tate, and basically everyone snubbed by Rolling Stone makes an appearance.
