Prior to the premiere episode of Collision, it was reported that former NXT star Chris Hero was backstage for a trial. No specific job role was given; however, considering BJ Whitmer was recently let go, it was suspected it could be for a producer’s role. Now though, Hero has taken to Twitter himself to confirm he is working as a coach for AEW.
Hero began his wrestling journey in the late ’90s, gaining recognition in promotions like Ring of Honor and Combat Zone Wrestling. Hero’s hard-hitting style and ability to adapt to various opponents made him a sought-after talent. He later joined WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, under the ring name Kassius Ohno. Yet, after being released by the company for a second time in 2020, he has taken a hiatus from the ring but has insisted during a recent interview he isn’t retired.
