Charlotte Flair was written off WWE television at the hands of Ronda Rousey in an I Quit match at Backlash back in May 2022. It was presumed that she could marry Andrade El Idolo and the pair have an extended honeymoon together. However, as the month passed, it became clear there was more to her absence, with Andrade only being prepared to say she was dealing with a personal issue when asked. Now though, the New York Post has revealed the reason for her absence was the need to have multiple dental procedures done.
So after her honeymoon, Flair underwent multiple dental procedures after which she could not risk being hit in the face for weeks at a time. Flair said she probably could have been back for SummerSlam in late July, but stayed out longer knowing she still had one more procedure to get through.

And in doing so, she defeated Ronda Rousey in an impromptu match for the Women’s SmackDown Championship in less than a minute. Since then, she has worked with Sonya Deville, with the pair wrestling on television and a series of house shows.
