Over the past week, WWE has released several talents, including Jinder Mahal and Cameron Grimes, to the disappointment of many fans. And now, eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Guru Raaj, who was previously considered part of NXT’s roster, has been moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee he has been released, but considering he hasn’t wrestled since November 2022, it appears to be a genuine possibility.
Guru Raaj, whose real name is Laxmikant Rajpoot, was initially trained by the legendary Great Khali in India and subsequently earned a contract with WWE after a successful tryout in 2019. From there, he would get additional training at the Performance Center and made his official WWE debut at their 2021 Superstar Spectacle event, facing off against Finn Bálor. However, from there, his role was primarily to elevate others on NXT, 205 Live, and NXT Level Up.
