Charlie Haas Talks About Getting Back On His Feet Following Divorce From Jackie Gayda

Charlie Haas is best known to wrestling fans for his WWE run as part of The Worlds Greatest Tag Team with Shelton Benjamin. During this time, he met and married Jackie Gayda, the co-winner of the second Tough Enough series, and the couple had four children. Sadly, during an interview with The Hannibal TV, Haas revealed he had gone through a rough patch due to getting divorced. Thankfully, he would let fans know he is now back on his feet and running a Texas youth wrestling program.

I’ve been out of the business about two years, went through a divorce, which was really tough for me and the kids.

I’m back on my feet. I run a youth wrestling program out of Allen, Texas. Allen High School. They’re going for their 13th straight State title. They’re a top ten team in the country. I run the youth program that pushes all those kids into that program. I’m in the room every day, wrestling, conditioning with kids from anywhere from kindergarten all the way up to high school, to college kids and drop-bys. I’m actually wrestling amateur and wrestling the way I did when I was in college. So, in order for me do that, I had to drop weight; I’m at 215 right now. It’s a different look, but it fits me, so I’m happy where I’m at.Charlie Haas

Aside from amateur wrestling and working with his youth program, Haas has also recently returned to the independent scene after a two-year absence. In November, he began competing for Southwest Wrestling Entertainment out of Texas, which also books former WWE talent Rodney Mack and current AEW star Lance Archer.
