Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery or an “eye lift,” improves the appearance of the upper and lower eyelids by removing or repositioning excess skin, muscle, and fat. The outpatient procedure addresses sagging lids that can impair vision and puffy under-eye bags caused by aging or genetics. Performed under anesthesia in less than 90 minutes, it involves hidden incisions for minimal scarring. Initial swelling and bruising peak early but typically subside within one to two weeks.
