Former UFC and WWE star Cain Velasquez is currently serving a five-year sentence at Soledad State Prison after pleading no contest to attempted murder in a 2022 shooting incident. Yet, in good news for his supporters, MMAFighting.com reports that, according to California prison records, his parole eligibility date has advanced from March 2026 to February 2026. Still, the 43-year-old’s potential early release is not guaranteed and depends on parole board review.
Velasquez, a two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, compiled a 14–3 MMA record with dominant wins over Brock Lesnar, Junior dos Santos, and Antônio Silva. After retiring in 2019, he began wrestling for AAA, impressing in Mexico, but after moving to WWE, an injury led to a poor first impression with fans. However, his life has since been turned upside down after being shot at a vehicle containing a man accused of inappropriate behaviour towards his young son, injuring the man’s stepfather.
