In April 2023, Bushwhacker Luke Williams announced on his Facebook page that his long-time tag partner Butch Miller had passed away. At the time, no cause of death was known, although it was later revealed that the 78-year-old Miller had traveled to the US from New Zealand without his blood pressure medication, seemingly having forgotten to pack it.
And now, in an interview with Wrestling Life with Ben Veal, Williams has opened up Miller’s final hours. In this, he would reveal that, heartbreakingly, Miller had to say goodbye to his loved ones via a Zoom call, and he then witnessed him take his final breath just over an hour later.
Williams and Miller first started teaming in 1966 and, over the years, used several tag team names, including The Sheepherders, Los Pastores, and The Kiwis. However, most readers will remember them best as The Bushwhackers, which they used in the WWF between 1988 and 1996. And while many hardcore fans were initially disappointed that they had given up their bloodthirsty style for far more comedic personas, it would see them achieve their biggest financial success, which led to a WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2015.
