Buckcherry made one of the great rock ’n’ roll comebacks in recent memory with the release of their 2005 album “15.” The record came after the band’s initial breakup in 2002, and it spawned several hits including “Next 2 You,” “Sorry,” “Everything” and “Crazy B*tch.”

The latter of those songs has arguably become the band’s biggest hit, and in a new interview with Youngstown Studio, singer Josh Todd revealed that the song almost didn’t get released.

“MySpace was going on at the time,” Todd said. “And all the sudden ‘Crazy B*tch’ just started blowing up. We had over a million listens of this song, and radio stations were doing their own edits of the song and putting it on radio without us even asking them. It was just this crazy wave that was starting to form.”

Todd said the band was planning to release “Next 2 You” as the next single, but quickly pivoted. “It really changed a lot of things for us,” Todd said, but also shared that the band had no expectations for the song. “Not at all,” he continued. “It sat around on the cutting room floor for like 3 years before it was ever on a record. We just thought it’d be a good, fun song for our core fans. We liked it but never thought it would be what it’s become.”

Todd said “Crazy B*tch” has taken on a life of its own over the years, and he revealed the wildest things he’s seen in the audience when the band performs it.

“There’s so many things,” he said. “People having sex to it. People giving each other oral to it. People just being naked listening to it live. It’s crazy. I don’t know. That song just somehow hits home with men and women. That’s what’s gone on over the years. It’s pretty nuts.”
