WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch retained her title in a match against Lyra Valkyria on Sunday at Summerslam. “The Man” also debuted a new theme song by Pennsylvania rockers The Wonder Years.

The band are notable wrestling fans and have referenced the business several times throughout the years including “Wyatt’s Song (Your Name),” which was a tribute to the late Bray Wyatt.

Lynch commented on the theme following her match posting a picture of herself with The Wonder Years frontman Dan Campbell: “I asked @broompeople from the @thewonderyearsband, one of my favorite bands if they would write new entrance music for me. What they wrote far exceeded even my very high expectations of what they would do. This song is deeply personal to me. It was my honor to debut it at SummerSlam with Dan in the crowd. He’s the man.”

The Wonder Years also previously provided a song, “Year of the Vulture,” for the NXT “Stand & Deliver” show during Wrestlemania weekend in 2024. Campbell previously compared headlining shows in music to wrestlers being in the main event. “Headlining is kind of … I listened to this Chris Jericho spoken word, actually went to it, live in Australia,” Campbell previously told the Pittsburgh City Paper. “People always call headlining the loneliest set, when you’re wrestling, because when you get backstage, everyone’s already gone. And that’s kinda true too when you’re playing.”
