Bayley will face her former friend IYO Skye for the WWE Women’s Championship at this weekend’s “Show of Shows,” Wrestlemania 40. She had hoped that one of her favorite bands, Paramore, would play her to the ring.
“Let’s do Paramore for Mania,” Bayley said last month. “Hashtag Paramore for Mania. Maybe we can start that up because that’s been my dream. I’ve never got one of those big Mania entrances like everybody else so maybe I should get one this year,” Bayley said.
Paramore singer Hayley Williams responded by reading a social media post from Bayley: “Bayley says ‘Dude, I wanna play ‘Simmer’ for my entrance at WrestleMania.’ You have our permission, that’s sick, holy s*it.”
On Friday, Bayley provided an update on her Wrestlemania entrance, and unless she’s pulling a work, unfortunately it doesn’t look like her wish of having Paramore play her to the ring will come true.
She wrote: “Dear loyal sheep, I did everything in my power to get my dream Wrestlemania entrance. But due to scheduling, it isn’t in the stars this year. Someday! So until then….Enjoy the official #Bayley vs #IYOSKY Mania hype video ft ‘Simmer’ by Hayley Williams. Thank you @paramore @WWE.”
Bayley previously requested a collaboration with Paramore to create new theme music ahead of her return to the ring in 2022. She also previously asked permission from Williams to use “Simmer” for her entrance at WrestleMania 37, and was granted the request by Williams. Unfortunately, Bayley was not on the card at WrestleMania 37 in 2021, and she suffered an injury that kept her out of WrestleMania 38 the next year.
