Earlier this year, Saraya announced that her time with AEW had come to an end, as both sides had mutually agreed to terminate her contract. Subsequently, speculation quickly commenced that a return to WWE could be in the British wrestler’s future, with her still having a large fan base that remembers her as Paige. However, after she didn’t appear at WWE’s all-women’s event, Evolution, Bodyslam.net has reported that WWE never considered her for an appearance and has no interest in rehiring her.
32-year-old Saraya worked for WWE under the name Paige between 2011 and 2022, although she was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2017 due to a neck injury. Still, it’s understood that despite being sidelined, she attempted to get medically cleared to return to the ring several times, but WWE doctors kept refusing. Therefore, many fans were shocked when she signed with AEW, and it was announced that she would be stepping into the ring as a competitor, which can only mean that WWE’s doctors had been excessively cautious, or Saraya’s neck had miraculously recovered.
