Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have officially parted ways with WWE, amidst the latest round of roster cuts. However, it appears this wasn’t a typical release, as according to Bryan Alvarez on X.com, the longtime New Day members declined to restructure their contracts at TKO’s request and instead opted to leave the company. While disappointing it has left fans excited to see what the veteran stars will accomplish once their 90-day non-compete periods expire.
“We can also confirm that in the case of New Day, it was their decision to leave based on what TKO was offering for a new deal. To be specific, New Day’s deals were not up. They were asked to restructure to TKO deals, they didn’t like the deals, so they were then granted their release.” – Bryan Alvarez
The New Day’s legendary WWE journey began in July 2014 when Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E debuted as a vibrant, positivity-driven trio. What started as an entertaining act quickly became one of the most decorated and beloved factions in modern history. The group captured the WWE Tag Team Championship a record 13 times, while Kingston and Big E each enjoyed WWE Championship success. For over a decade, they blended elite athleticism and charisma to become genuinely beloved WWE stars.
