Otis is one of WWE’s most popular undercard wrestlers and, at just 33 years of age, looks set to have a long run with the company. However, he hasn’t wrestled since the May 5 episode of Raw, where he lost to Rusev in a six-minute match. And now it has been reported by Fightful Select that the reason for his absence is an elbow injury that required an arthroscopy procedure to diagnose the problem. How long he will remain absent is currently unclear, although the report noted that “he wasn’t expected to miss too much time.”
Otis, real name Nikola Bogojević, broke into the business in 2015 and, thanks to his unique look and amateur wrestling credentials, was signed by WWE the following year. From there, he began training at the Performance Center and soon formed the Heavy Machinery tag team with Tucker Knight. Still, despite a four-year run together, many believe the team never fulfilled its true potential as WWE separated the duo as part of the 2020 Draft without seemingly having long-term plans for either man.
