AEW’s Lady Frost has proven it’s rarely too late to follow your dreams if you’re prepared to do the work, as she decided to become a pro wrestler in her 30s. However, while her husband, Victor Benjamin, a highly regarded indie wrestler, would play a huge role in breaking her into the business, Frost has unexpectedly announced on X they have divorced after nine years of marriage.
Frost, real name Brittany Steding, always had pro wrestling in her blood due to being the granddaughter of Tony Marino, who famously tagged with Bruno Sammartino in the 1960s. Therefore, it likely wasn’t a massive surprise to those close to her when she began teaming with her now ex-husband on the indies. Still, her big break would actually come as a singles wrestler in 2021 when she joined TNA and shared a ring with the promotion’s top female stars Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace.
However, after a falling out with TNA management, Frost requested her release, and while this was initially denied, she left five months later. Subsequently, this opened the door for her to work for both AEW and ROH, where she clearly impressed those with hiring powers, and she was soon signed full-time.
