AEW Original Could Soon Be A Free Agent

AEW veteran Jack Perry’s future with the promotion is, according to Bryan Alvarez, his current contract is nearing expiration. However, the podcaster noted that negotiations for a new deal are already underway, suggesting that Tony Khan is eager to retain the former Jungle Boy, who has been a key part of AEW since its 2019 launch. Still, Perry’s recent loss of the AEW National Championship to Mark Davis and an early exit from the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament suggest a renewal is not yet guaranteed.

Since debuting at the inaugural Double or Nothing event as Jungle Boy, Perry rose to prominence alongside the beloved Jurassic Express tag team, capturing the AEW World Tag Team Titles in 2022. He later turned heel, won the FTW Championship, and adopted the edgy “Scapegoat” persona following a high-profile suspension after his altercation with CM Punk. Then, after reuniting with Luchasaurus in late 2025, Perry claimed the AEW National Championship at the Staples Center, the same venue his famous father, Luke Perry, used to take him to watch wrestling, in what is likely a career highlight.
