Keith Lee is currently All Elite, having been let go by WWE in 2021; although as the company still employs his wife, Mia Yim, he is still welcomed backstage at events. Yet, during this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony countdown show, the former NXT competitor actually reappeared on WWE television when he accidentally stepped into shot while Kayla Braxton was interviewing CM Punk backstage. Whether this will get the AEW wrestler any heat remains unknown; however, as it was clearly unplanned, it seems doubtful.
39-year-old Lee was considered a can’t-miss talent when part of NXT, and Vince McMahon even told Randy Orton to make him look like a star when they wrestled on the main roster. Nevertheless, McMahon would sour on Lee and send him to receive additional training, seemingly wanting to change what made him stand out. Subsequently, after missing several months due to his heart becoming inflamed, he debuted a new gimmick as an homage to Bearcat Wright, but despite this, he was still released.
